Bell County, Belton

Belton Real Estate

Bell County, Texas is home to the City of Belton, located in the heart of Central Texas. Belton, established in 1850, boasts the famous Chisholm Trail. This route established economic regrowth after the Civil War and originally ran through the center of downtown.

The City of Belton is proud to offer its residents one of the finest park systems in Texas with 145 acres devoted to family recreation. The City of Belton's park system includes 8.5 acres within neighborhoods and 11.2 acres for special uses such as athletic fields.

The city has divided the use of devoted park acreage into three categories:

  • Community Parks offer full amenities to the entire city. Heritage Park, Chisholm Trail ParkYettie Polk Park, and Confederate Park are all designed to offer year-round recreational opportunities to the residents of the City of Belton.
  • Neighborhood Parks are typically used for those residents of a particular neighborhood, usually under five acres and within walking distance from homes. The four neighborhood parks in the City of Belton providing hours of leisure time are Beall Park, South Wall, Housing Authority and Quail Meadows Park.
  • Special Purpose Parks are generally used for sporting activities, and the City of Belton has provided four complexes for area residents. They are Continental Field, Lions Field, Griggs Field and Jaycee Field.
