You may not need any more reasons to live in Texas, but it is always nice to continue to hear the good news. As I have mentioned several times before, when compared to the nation as a whole, Texas is fairing extremely well during these tough times in the real estate market.

Below is a list of the INCREASE IN U.S. FORECLOSURES in 2007 by state:

Maryland 455.3%
Delaware 255%
California 238%
Nevada 215.1%
Massachusetts 161.1%
Rhode Island 153.8%
Louisiana 151.6%
Arizona 150.9%
Idaho 140.5%
TEXAS -4.6%

Those are some incredible statistics! While I have yet to see the numbers for 2008, it is expected that there will be some increase in foreclosures in Texas, however, the projections I have seen are estimating low SINGLE DIGIT increases. That’s still great news when compared nationally.
